Real time strategy has been in my life, ever since I first played games on a computer. It sparked my interest for the digital world and pushed me to dig ever deeper into the vast depths of its challenges and obstacles. Over the years videogames taught me a lot and gave me beautiful memories to look on. Now the time has come to challenge myself  once more and create what initially inspired me to play in the first place!

About Me.

Im a current student at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, Netherlands. Here I study Creative Media and Game Technologies in a challenging and intercultural setting. Before I came to the Netherlands, I finished my B.Sc. in Psychology in Germany and spent about 3/4  year working at a children and youth facility. Now, however, Im focussing on becoming a valuable part of the videogame industry, by putting my Design and Programming skills to the test!

As you might have seen when browsing through my current work: the bulk of my experience lies within designing and programming. Even though my interest lies within system and gameplay programming, I have encountered many different facets of game development, ranging from implementation of APIs to general performance optimization. Engine wise, I have had contact with Unreal Engine 5, GameMaker, and even smaller ones like Core or GDevelop. However, Unity is for now the engine I am most familiar with and proficient in.

Regarding my game design skills, I found that level and narrative design are the ones that suit me best, and I find a lot of pleasure in using my skillset as a psychologist to enhance my work.

For the future I want to further focus on Unity, as well as get my capabilities with Unreal Engine 5 to the same level. In support of this, I will further develop my C# and C++ skills for the engines respectively. I have already taken the first steps, by working on private projects and enrolling in more advanced Unreal Engine classes at university.
